 | Peter Pearson at the Waldock Art Gallery in Dublin, Ireland
Peter feels deeply about the continuing destruction of our architectural heritage and has strived for years to record the Dublin cityscape during his years of painting. He is an historian, conservationist and artist with a lifelong commitment to the protection and enhancement of Ireland's arctitectural heritage. His paintings of Dublin scenes and landmarks and the River Liffey, serve to establish Peter Pearson as a leading figure in Irish art.
"In his view of the Dublin quays looking up the river, the bridges take on an other-worldly appearance with their piers spindly and elongated in the water's reflections, while the buildings along the banks are glimmering presences.I n the many views of Dublin's docks that Peter has painted over the years, there is not detail of cranes, bollards, ships or the complexity of the quayside, but rather a distant vista of verticals and groups of buildings mingling in tone and colour with the water before and the sky overhead."
