John Nolan is an Irish Artist whose work is immediately recognisable due to his dramatic use of colour which results in vivid and dramatic images. His interpretation of various popular motifs including landscapes, flowers, fish, still life, birds and faces, make vibrant visual impact. John also explores and develops the artists palette through his abstract works.
The celebration of colour in John’s work has a wide appeal across the spectrum of art buying. His work is much sought after in Ireland and abroad, and he has recently returned from touring Europe to promote his work.
In 2003 he was selected to represent Ireland in the Florence Biennale in Italy. His paintings are in many corporate and private collections in Ireland and worldwide including Trinity College Dublin, Microsoft, Esat Digifone, Royal Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Institute of Music, Berlin, and numerous others. Mike Murphy is also a collector of his work.
He has exhibited in major galleries since 1965 including The Bank of Ireland Arts Centre, Florence Biennale, Italy, and the Oireachtas Art Show. Since his return to Ireland John has chosen the Waldock Gallery to represent his work.
