Jim Halligan at the Waldock Art Gallery in Dublin, Ireland
Jim has been painting seriously since the early 80s. He is fascinated by the ever changing nature of light in Ireland..."one of the few perks of our marvellous climate," he says. He has developed a tight and detailed style in his work to interpret the Irish landscape. Jim currently uses the medium of acrylic paint because it allows him to work the colour quickly while still achieving the tonal depth of oil paint.
His Irish art encompasses many Irish scenes and landscapes, particularly around south county dublin, where he can paint his favourite scenes of Dun Laoghaire and Dublin Bay. He has shown in five exhibitions since the 90s. His paintings of Ireland are a firm favourite at the Waldock Art Gallery in Dublin.
