Jerry Marjoram at the Waldock Art Gallery in Dublin, Ireland
Jerry Marjoram is one of the great enthusiasts in Irish Art. He was born in the old Liberties area of Dublin in 1936. He began to paint for pleasure, but the hobby soon became a fulltime occupation. He entered the College of Art in Ireland under the tutorship of Maurice McGonigal and Sean Keating.
He now finds himself continually drawn to the West of Ireland and to Connemara in particular. His paintings are realistic, and tend to be of the natural landscape as God made it. His paintings of rural Ireland, and his views of the Irish countryside are now well established. In early 2004 Jerry also began to paint seascapes and sailing paintings again around Dublin Bay, something he hadn't done for thirty years. " I always enjoy painting the sea," he says.
He has had many one man and group exhibitions throughout Ireland, and his work is represented in numerous corporate and private collections worldwide. His largest painting hangs in the Irish Embassy in Prague, Europe.
